Nearly every player in League of Legends is aware that strategically placing wards can be the difference between escaping an enemy ambush or falling prey to their attack. Unfortunately, attempting to place a ward in a specific location over a wall often results in failure, much to the frustration of teammates.

The art of warding is crucial in the game, and those who have mastered it have greatly contributed to their team’s victories by providing superior vision. To simplify the process, Riot Games has recently introduced the ward indicator in Patch 13.4 of League, allowing players to see exactly where a ward will land and enabling them to place it with precision.

With this new feature, when a player selects a regular or control ward, they can hover over an area and the game will display where the ward will land, even over terrain, making it much easier to ward bushes behind walls. This also eliminates the need for players to overextend themselves and potentially put themselves in danger while trying to place a ward.

Special wards, such as those placed over the dragon pit wall, are highly beneficial for gaining early-game information and securing quick kills. However, their exact positioning can be tricky, making them easy to misplace. The ward indicator ensures that every ward is placed in the correct spot, increasing the chances of success for players.
